The State of Georgia has just adopted a new electrical code - the 2023 National Electrical Code from the National Fire Protection Association. It will take effect January 1, 2025. This course is a review of some new requirements and the possible challenges that will arise.

Will existing homes have to be brought up to current code requirement?
Changes to the requirements for outlets in kitchens, particularly kitchen islands + peninsulas, will likely be the most impactful changes. In short, we’re not going to be allowed to place outlets where we have previously.
We’ll give you an update on these provisions plus other new provisions like required protection of whole-house batteries in garage spaces.
