Design and contract drawings for building projects are commonly called “blueprints”. Join us to explore how a set of drawings comes together and how to read it as we cover the following topics:

  • What are blueprints?
  • What are design drawings?
  • What are the four views commonly used in drawings?
  • How can designers make drawings easier to read?
  • How are drawing sets typically organized?
  • How is bulk information captured in drawings?
  • How are building codes incorporated into drawings?
  • What are specifications for a project?
  • What’s the difference between bid documents and contract documents?
  • How can you save money when documenting the scope of work?
  • How are revisions to drawings tracked?
  • Where should you print, scan or make copies of drawings?

We’re just discussing drawings though we’ve identified a dozen questions you should be able to answer. This information will help you better understand how the scope of work for a project is communicated.

Clear communication through documents is the best way to get an accurate bid for a project AND protect yourself from disagreements over the scope of work. Thus, applying the information we’ll present could save you a fortune.

As always, we welcome your questions and comments. Click the Enroll Now button to reserve your virtual seat now!
